Today's attempt

Called and spoke to a woman who I could hardly understand. She looked at my account and confirmed it was messed up (Shocker!!!). Puts me on hold for a few moment and then said she was going to transfer me to sales. What she really meant was I am going to hang up on you.

Approximately was on the phone for 35 minutes.

The Beginning

Back in the mid part of November 2009, Comcast in the Baltimore area switch to all digital cable. By them doing so, they essentially force all customers in the area to have either a cablebox or a Digital Transport Adapter(DTA). In response, Comcast offered each address two free DTA's as part of the conversion. So I go stand in line for an hour and a half at my local office to pick up my two free DTA's for my TV's that do not have boxes. Little did I know this would be the beginning to hell.

It seems there is an issue with my account. When they pull up my account, they can not see my equipment or the product codes for my service. Due to this, they can not add the new DTA's or fix some of the service issues I am having with OnDemand and some of my channels disappearing from my boxes I currently have. Every time I get someone no the phone, I hear "I have never seen that before" or "this is something new I have never seen". But by some miracle, they are billing my correctly.

To date, I have made a total of:
  • 19 phone calls
  • Spent an approximate of 20 hours on the phone
  • Transferred more times that I can count
  • Had one home appointment (which they never showed up for or called)
  • Disconnected twice
  • Had 2 Datacenter tickets open to try to resolve the problem
  • Have the direct phone number of a Supervisor in the Largo, MD office (Which said "he would champion my cause" but has yet to call me back after 3 voice messages)
My options are limited. I could always go DirectTV for television. For the internet, Verizon FIOS is not in my area. When I disconnected my land line 5 years ago to go with Voice over IP (VOIP), I have been told they were nice enough to cut the copper lines to my house so that rules out DSL.

What can I do? Seems no one wants to take ownership of this problem. Who else has or is going through this? Anyone have Suggestions?
